The creation of county, state, and national park land is often seen as preserving valuable rural land for recreation and protection of urban encroachment. However, as research continues to expand on the history of these lands, how is this preservation helping to preserve important and often unheard stories? Examples from Rose Hill Manor and other Frederick County parks and Monocacy Battlefield and more will highlight how preserving the literal and physical crossroads of history is important for our community.
