Awesome Animals Field Trip

Program Description

This program will give students an understanding of the difference between invertebrate (insects, arachnids) and vertebrate (amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals) animals. Students will learn vocabulary related to animal anatomy, as well as differences in animal needs, particularly related to habitat. The hike will focus on the plants and fungi that interact with several classes of animals in a natural forest ecosystem. Instruction will include discussions, songs, observation of live animals & habitats, and hands-on group activities

Three Rotations (Pre-K to 5th Grade)

  • Insects & Arachnids
  • Reptiles & Amphibians 
  • Hike (Mammals & Birds & Plants) 

Program Details

  • Program length: 90-120 minutes
  • Minimum: 10 students 
  • Maximum: 3 classes, or 100 students, per program time slot
  • Chaperones required: 1 chaperone per 15 students
  • Cost: $5/person
